Mother, May I? Wo-mantras to Push-up Your Bra-very!

Remember that childhood game Mother, May I? Well, that was a fun game decades ago, but that no longer applies to mothers or women in 2022. Nowadays, no asking “May I?” of others or ourselves—the sky is the limit for us gals.

But with so much going on in The Female Brain, even the strongest woman sometimes needs a boost and some direction. For Bodacious Babes on this Mother’s Day, here are some wo-mantras to help build up our strength and lift up our spirits, if not our boobs and our butt!

“No” is a complete sentence. “It’s given me this tremendous sense of power. I’m a little bit drunk on it,” says Anne Lamott about “No” being a complete sentence.  “No” to another may be honoring “Yes” to ourselves.

“That won’t work for me.” The Erma Edict from The Sassy Primer rides again. No excuses, no apologies, no womansplaining.

I want what I want. If you don’t ask, you’ll never know. As Madonna said, “A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That’s why they don’t get what they want.”

No permission needed.  Pamela Anderson gives you permission not to need permission: “Eventually you just have to realize that you’re living for an audience of one. I’m not here for anyone else’s approval.” Don’t ask and you won’t be told. Go for it!

“Be a badass with a good ass.” Sassy Primer author Rae Jean lives her wo-mantra, and she believes it is worthy of being tattooed over every Boomer Babe’s heartor perhaps another part of her anatomy.

“Listen to everything your man says, then do what you want.” The Sassy Primer Rebecca Rule rides again!

Take me as I am. According to actress Kaitlin Foster, “There are parts of me that will always remain untamable, messy and reckless; but I refuse to apologize for it anymore.”

Think like a queen. Oprah says: “A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.”

Babes, wishing you lots of good support, happiness, and love on Mother’s Day!
